21st March 2012-The onset of spring is indeed remarkable one for me as it has made earth come back to life after a long cold winter.Truly marked....spring-honored as king of season is a beautiful season of flowers.Onset of spring has caused many miracles over here...there was sudden rise in temp,sun which was hiding during winter has suddenly started peeping out from sky,days are close to 12 hrs long with day length increasing as season progresses.And to the surprise...Almost sunset happens at 8.40 late in the evening-Isn't it amazing one!
On the very first day of spring with the end of day light saving I was surprised to see sudden change in sunset timings.I remember it was sunday and we had no attention towards time..I thought it was just 5 o clock and we went on doing timepass..and finally when sunset happened we saw the clock and discovered that it was 8.15 and not 5.we were totally amazed oh la la i have made nothing for dinner yet!..
Indeed spring time refers to idea of rebirth,regrowth and renewal.Bulbs that were carefully planted during fall now has begun to grow and blossom.Bare trees near jogging track has now started blomming thereby enriching natural beauty.Variety of pansies have begun to bloom and green world has started to return after its winter slumber.It seems as if nature is dressed in beautiful green gown.Here's a photo of spring---A view from our apartment...
Flowers of various colors have started dancing in vernal wind.A pleasant light breeze has started blowing which not at all allows us to stay at home,It carries to us smell of flowers and music of soils.Honey bees have started humming and they have made hive in our patio also.All are blithe and happy.Humans who were shutting doors and windows and sitting quietly locked in their homes during winter looks mirthful and have now started cuming out for play.Even our apartment have started many events and get together programs so that we can get to know our neighbours.
Nature is in her best form now.Power and regenerative effects of spring are evidenced by the fact that every major religion includes a major holiday called SPRING BREAK over here.Everybody takes leave from their respective offices and arrange for some outing,trips and picnics as Schools remain closed.Being first season of year it marks beginning of festivals.From passover to EASTER it seems that every culture marks celebration of renewal and new life.Glad to know that it is important season of hobbies also.Variety of craft shops like Michaels arranges for hobby classes and workshops over here.
Kentucky state-referred as horse capital of USA,very famous for Derby,celebrate this event with great pomp in spring only.People all over the USA eagerly wait for this event.Iam very proud to know that Louisville has biggest derby festival in kentucky and we all were overjoyed to watch and experience the AIRSHOW of fighter planes and Amazing FIREWORKS prior to it.We got golden oppurtunity to experience 138th derby festival of USA.Also we were enchanted to see the Huge Garland of Roses prepared by the world's largest florist for the winner horse of Derby and the huge gold trophy sponsored by big mall KROGER over here.Indeed it was amazing display!
Also would like to mention here that spring is season of CIRCUS...We enjoyed ringling brothers barnum and Bailey circus show a lot..It was indeed memorable event...Only in spring we can experience ultimate crusing on Ohio river over here ...glad that we got an oppurtunity to cruise on BELLE OF LOUISVILLE,SPIRIT OF JEFFERSON here...we thorougly enjoyed 2 hrs crusing and sight seeing...views of louisville downtown were mind blowing!
Very sad to mention that unstable weather often occurs here during spring which leads to emergence of variety of allergies,cold and cough,sore throat etc.Hence though spring is the season when u can enjoy roaming out ..weather being pleasant we need to take extra care of ourselves.Natural disasters like tornado alley is most active during this time.Arnu for the first time in his life enjoyed TORNADO ALLEY IMAX movie at Louisville science center along with us.It was indeed worth watching movie.Supercell thunderstorms can also produce dangerously hail and high winds for which severe thunderstorm warning is always issued.Thus while planning for any outing we always need to see weather forecast beforehand and then plan accordingly.
